Hi, this your Weddington Custom has really sparked my interest and so I am trolling your website again.

It appears we share a frighteningly similar taste for gear. This leads me to ask you a couple of questions.

(1) How frequently have you seen Weddington’s for sale, and what price range should I anticipate for a custom in fairly mint condition?  (Perhaps a loaded question, but any insight you can offer will be very welcome!)

(2) I’ve also been contemplating purchasing the very same WCR pickup set that you recently sold.  What was your impression of the pickups, and what prompted you to sell them?

Cheers

Patrick

Patrick, thanks again for the kind words.

Weddingtons do come up for sale with some regularity, just keep an eye on eBay and Craigslist.  if you look through the site you’ll see that I often post about the “going rate” paid on eBay.  With the economy down the tubes, Classics are going for $750-850, more in pristine condition; Customs are $1000+, depending on condition.  I’m not sure if you care about the color, but the ‘bursts seem to come up more often than the other colors.

I sold the WCR pickups after I sold my amber Weddington Custom because the buyer preferred the stock DiMarzio’s.  Look around and you’ll see a long-ish post with my thoughs on the WCRs, and comparing them to the stock DiMarzios.  I’ll sum it up by saying that while I liked the Crossroads, the Darkburst didn’t thrill me as much.  In fact, I asked David McNaught to pull the Darkburst out of my Vintage Single Cut.  I’m going to try some PRS RP (Modern Eagle PUPs) and see how I like them instead.
