Guitar acquisition syndrom… it’s a GAS, GAS, GAS

Yamaha Pacifica 1412

Funny thing, life is.  Just a week or two back, I was bemoaning missing auctions for both a Yamaha Weddington Custom and a PRS EG in seafoam.  Then I was prattling on about how rare Yamaha Pacifica 1412s are.  Well, guess what… there’s a 1412 posted on Craigslist and the same PRS EG that sold on eBay earlier this month is back on eBay.  What are the chances?  Seriously.

The PRS looks great, just like it did the last time ‘round on eBay.  The Pacifica looks to be in good condition, too, based on the pictures posted on Flickr.  The 1412 has a nice, flamy maple top, though it’s a bit hard to tell at first glance because it’s so over-the-top-red.  (Though, I guess over-the-top red goes with the over-the-top superstrat styling!)  Still looks like a nice guitar.  And it’s in Northern Virginia.  I could be down there in, what, four or five hours?  And the owner is asking $700.  Not too bad, right?

So, why aren’t I jumping at one of these two guitars that I’ve fawned over?  Simple enough, my new used guitar should be on it’s way to me tomorrow.  Don’t want to say too much and jinx anything, but it looks to be a keeper….  Watch this space and you might see me doin’ the happy dance!

Speaking of Craigslist… I just searched for “barden” to see if anyone was selling a set of Joe Barden humbuckers and found this post.  Apparently Joe Barden Engineering is looking for an inside sales manager.  Sound like a cool position.  Probably not for me since I already have a job, and can’t play guitar, but it still sounds like a cool position.  For someone else.
