JMP50 Clone Build, Part 2
The JMP50 chassis is back from the powder coater, sporting a shiny black exterior. Let the building commence!
After reading about Joe Popp’s Rachelle JMP50 Mk II build, I thought it would be tre cool to have a black JMP myself. But not just black Garolite… all black. After all, black is rock and roll. So I sent the chassis out to be powder coated gloss black. It took a few days, but I think it was worth the wait!
I spent some time installing the tube sockets, too. You can’t see it in this picture, but I took a wire wheel mounted in a drill and removed the powder coating at the screw mounting holes for the tube sockets, cap cans and ground mounting points. Powder coating a chassis looks cool, but I’m concerned that it will be difficult to ground without going down to bare metal in these areas. We’ll see…
