The Boxster is Back on the Road!
Back in January, I discovered that one of the wheels on the Boxster was cracked and one was bent. I debated using this as an excuse to replace all four wheels with new ones, but the wheels I liked were all in the $1,000 to $1,250 per wheel so it was simply too expensive. Instead, I had the tires dismounted and sent the stock wheels out to Wheel Collision Center be refinished. The Porsche was out of service for a couple of weeks, but I had the tires mounted and balanced today, and they’re back on the car. Here’s a quick picture of one of the wheels, powder coating the centers black really stands out. To me it make the car look smaller (not sure why); I also like it monochromatic. I remember seeing a 911 back in the early- to mid-‘80s tht was black with black Fuchs wheels. Obviously, it had a lasting impact!
