The Yamaha Weddington watch - March 15, 2007

I seem to be on the lookout for Yamaha Weddingston guitars—Customs, Classics and Specials—ever since buying mine last year.  I have a search saved on eBay so I can see the ones that go up for auction, and every once in a while I search google to see what turns up.  Mostly the same old pages I’ve read before, but sometimes there are some gems to be unearthed.

This Special was one such auction:

I exercised some self restraint and didn’t bid, which was good since I probably would have gone higher than the $436.86 winning bid.  Hey, I just saved myself some money!  (Don’t you always love it when people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on something, but say they “saved” money because the item was on sale?  If they wanted to save the money they would have put it all in the bank.)

And here’s another one I found on a MySpace blog, of all places.  Seems like DeAngela Jean from Neviah Nevi and Fragrant Thorns is selling her black Weddington Classic.  Very nice, but I didn’t buy it either.  At least not yet.  (Saving even more money!  I ought to buy myself something nice for doing such a good job saving all this money.  Like another guitar.)

Not much time for anything else lately so no updates to the DC30 or any of my other projects, not even the web redesign I’m working on.  Sorry, but it will get done.  Soon.

Hello, I was also a watcher on the auction for the black Yamaha Weddington,I didn’t pull the trigger either,it sailed passed what I would have given for it. I instead found and bought a mint Yamaha 1421 in dark grey/black metallic with the original Yamaha HSC, guitar is as new, case also, guitar came from a large collection so very little play time on it. the neck/fingerboard work is the best I have seen, it plays and sounds unreal, simply beautiful. I own several other Yamaha electrics including a very rare Wine Red SGB-2500 [when was the last time you saw one of these?] I’m also looking for a Weddington Custom, but they are a rare bird, they don’t turn up often even on Ebay, hey nice guitar[Weddington Custom] Kurt

Thanks Gary, Weddingtons are indeed hard to come buy and I consider myself quite fortunate to have found the one I did.  How do you like the Pacifica 1421?  I’m looking for a nice 1412 and I’d really like one in amber to match my Weddington.  I’ll probably have a long wait!
