Yamaha Weddington Customs, Classics and Specials sold on eBay in November and early December 2007

November and early December were banner months for Yamaha Weddington sales on eBay. There were no less than five—yes five!—Weddingtons that sold in the past six weeks. Two of them sold with “buy it now” for $1500. I’m not sure if this represents a new record, but it’s a clear indication that these instruments are receiving the attention they deserve.
First up was this cherryburst Weddington Classic which sold for $709 on November 9. Not much in the description other than saying the guitar was in “mint condition.” Looks good in the pics, if you like cherryburst.
Next was this quilt top Weddington Custom. Any Weddington Custom is something of a rarity, but quilt tops are truly unusual. It sold for the “buy it now” price of $1499 to the same gentleman who paid $960 for a black Weddington Custom back in May.
Third was this Weddington Custom, which was listed as being in “excellent condition.” Judging by the photots, it is a very good example of the breed with a nice flame maple top, though the tangerine burst may not be to everyone’s liking. This one sold for the “buy it now” price of $1499 on November 16. Interestingly, the seller was the same guy who sold the quilt top custom in the previous auction.
And here’s another minty fresh Weddington Custom that sold for $999 on November 25. Oh, and it was the same seller as the last two.
Up next is a black Weddington Classic, with a small ding on the face (doh!). Otherwise, very nice. A best nice offer of $675 and it was off to a new home.

They come up from time to time on eBay, but not too often. You can also keep an eye on The Gear Page and other internet sites, sometimes they’ll be sold privately but they tend to move quickly. Good luck, the hunt is half the fun!
